Montreal, September 27, 2010 – Ciné-Asie Creatives is proud to announce that Breathless, the powerful directional debut of prolific
Korean actor Yang Ik-june, is crashing into the theatres in Quebec on October 8th.
Breathless unashamedly depicts the story of a low-life debt collector in Seoul, Korea. Yang Ik-june stars himself as Sang-hoon, the
violent and unscrupulous gangster with a difficult past, who comes across Yeon-hee (played by Kim Kkobbi), a high school girl with an
equally difficult present. After a rather precarious start, the two manage to form a fast friendship of sorts amidst the hardships of
their daily life.
Besides the honour of winning the Best Film and Best Actor at Fantasia Film Festival, Breathless has collected prizes and merits from
all over the world, including the prestigious VPRO Tiger Award at Rotterdam International Film Festival 2009, Best Film at Deauville Asian
Film Festival 2009, Best Debut Feature at New York Asian Film Festival 2009, Best Actor and Best Actress at Las Palmas International
Film Festival 2009, in addition to being an official selection at Vancouver International Film Festival 2009, also Pusan International
Film Festival 2008.
